Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the RovásTan application (“the App”) and the optional RovásTan Pro purchase. By downloading, using, or purchasing within the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The App

RovásTan is a handwriting practice app for Székely-Hungarian runic writing (rovásírás), available on Google Play (Android) and the Apple App Store (iOS and iPadOS). The free version includes a limited set of letters, words, number signs, My Runes cards, and Translate letters. A one-time in-app purchase (“Pro”) unlocks the remaining curricula and the complete set in search, drawing, and Translate, including future content we add to the App.

2. Free version and Pro

• The App is free to download and use with the included free content: Letters vowels, all six number signs, the first Words chapter, My Runes (5 cards), and Translate (10 letters).
• Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. On Google Play the product ID is rovastan_pro. On the App Store it is the equivalent non-consumable product in App Store Connect. The price is set and shown by the store in your local currency at the time of purchase.
• Pro unlocks all current content and any content we add later at no extra charge. We do not promise a specific future feature or date.

3. Purchases, billing, and restore

• On Android, purchases are processed by Google Play through your Play account. On iOS and iPadOS, purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We never receive or store payment details.
• Pro is tied to the store account you used to buy it. Restore purchases on a new or reinstalled device from Get Pro or Settings, while signed into that same Play account or Apple ID. No RovásTan account is required.
• A Pro purchase on Google Play does not unlock Pro on the App Store, and a purchase on the App Store does not unlock Pro on Google Play.
• Promo or offer codes, where offered, are issued through the store and follow the store’s terms.

4. Refunds

Refunds are handled by the store you paid: Google Play according to Google’s policies, or Apple according to Apple’s policies (for example Report a Problem). Ask that store for a refund. Statutory rights under applicable law are unaffected.

5. Acceptable use

Use the App for personal, lawful learning. Do not reverse engineer, resell, redistribute, or circumvent the Pro unlock or the store’s purchase mechanisms, except where such a restriction is prohibited by law.

6. Privacy

Use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. In short: there is no account; learning data stays on your device; Check runs on the device; purchases go through Google Play or the App Store.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that Check results will always match a human teacher’s judgement. Historical and linguistic notes are for learning, not professional advice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BNG Studios will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. The new version will be in the App and at rovastan.bngstudios.com/terms. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
