RovásTan is a Hungarian rune (székely-magyar rovásírás) handwriting practice app operated by BNG Studios. This policy explains what information the app uses and the few cases where anything leaves your device.
Effective for RovásTan on Google Play (Android, package com.bngstudios.rovastan), on the Apple App Store (iOS and iPadOS), and for this website.
RovásTan has no account system and no login. You are not asked for a name, email, or other identifier to use the app or to unlock Pro.
The following are stored only in local storage on your device: curriculum and chapter selection, deck order, card position, learned/progress markers, streak data, settings (theme, language, rune font, letter set, board, animation speed), the Pro unlock flag, and your My Runes list. BNG Studios has no server for this data and does not collect, transmit, or sell it.
You draw on the canvas locally. Check and Draw to search compare your ink to rune glyphs on the device. This is a geometric match, not a cloud handwriting-recognition model. The ink never leaves the device.
The optional one-time Pro upgrade is processed by the store you downloaded the App from:
rovastan_pro).RovásTan never sees or stores payment details. The app only keeps a local flag that Pro is unlocked. Restore purchases asks that store what your store account owns. Google and Apple process purchase, restore, and billing data under their own privacy policies.
If you tap that you enjoy the app, RovásTan may open the store’s in-app review prompt (Google Play on Android; Apple’s rating prompt on iOS). That dialog is operated by Google or Apple, not by us.
If you send written feedback from the app, your device opens an email to rovastan@bngstudios.com. You choose whether to send it. We use that message only to improve the app.
Export Progress writes a JSON file on your device. You decide whether to share or back it up (for example via the system share sheet). Import reads such a file back into local storage.
RovásTan does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party trackers.
RovásTan does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
These legal pages are static files. They do not set tracking cookies.
